Laima Kreivytė
Laima Kreivytė was born in Vilnius in 1972. She studied at the Vilnius Academy of Arts and the Central European University in Budapest. Since 1996, she has been an instructor at the Vilnius Academy of Arts. She has worked for the cultural publications 7 meno dienos and Literatūra ir menas. Kreivytė published two books of poetry: Sappho’s purgatory (2013) and Arithmetic of closeness (2019); she also prepared collections of the work of artists Kęstutis Zapkus and Marija Teresė Rožanskaitė. She has curated over 50 exhibitions in Lithuania and abroad, including the Lithuanian pavilion at the 53rd Venice Biennale and the permanent XX-XXI century exposition at the National Gallery of Art in Vilnius. Kreivytė creates poetic performances and participates in exhibitions with the group Cooltūristės. She has also translated into Lithuanian the poems of Adrienne Rich, Anne Sexton, Sylvia Plath, and Elizabeth Bishop.
